Traditions and Blazing new Trails, Be bold in putting things into practice

Qingming Festival, We went to ancestral graves for a memorial ceremony. While standing beside a river, seeing some ducks swimming in a polluted river, we heaved a deep sigh at seeing the pollution of the last 20 years. Someone said: These ducks have been swimming in this river since they were born. And the river was polluted when they came to the river for the first time. They must have thought this river was originally like this. These ducks had never seen a clear and clean river, so they did not know what a clear and clean river looked like.

Some chickens lived in the chicken farm, each year the young chickens were carefully looked after by human beings and after they had grown up, they would be sent to the slaughterhouse.

These chickens had never known another kind of life, so they must have thought that being brought into the world, eating, sleeping, growing up and then going to the slaughterhouse was their life. They did not know there was another kind of life in the world.

Those people who did not believe in God had never seen Heaven nor Paradise on Earth, so they said there was neither Heaven nor Paradise on Earth.

Our knowledge largely comes from our practice and our ancestors' practice. Our ancestors have brought us a lot of good knowledge, cultures, civilizations, customs and religions. The history of human beings' development was recorded by cultures, civilizations, customs and religions. They are our most precious material and spiritual wealth. We should remember all these valuable traditions.

But we all know that almost all knowledge comes from historical , practical experience of human development process. Like human development and scientific and technological progress, a lot of catalytic knowledge in the historical development process of human development may now become a stumbling block hindering human development; a lot of perceived truth in the past may now become a fallacy.

Sometimes, we are like those ducks that never see a clear and clean river, we do not know what a clear and clean river looks like; We are also like those chickens in a chicken farm which never see any other life style, so we do not know our life can be changed.

We must strongly encourage scientific research and innovation. But we must be doubly cautious when we make an extensive, practical use of the scientific results. Because, after all, the scope of our knowledge has limitations, science is endless, there are still so many unknown human areas on our planet. Some new sciences and technologies may bring negative side effects. Before we put new scientific research results into large-scale use, it is necessary to have long-term practice tests, and further long-term research and practice.

Remembering and protecting the valuable traditions is very important for us, because the history of human beings' development was recorded by cultures, civilizations, customs and religions.

Blazing new trails is more important for us to keep developing our life and our future.
